...and the garlands, and the wreaths and the trees.
The planning. preparation, construction and the installation of the Holiday decorations at this clubhouse was 5 times longer than the decorations stayed displayed. But that is the way it goes with large scale projects geared to the Holidays. The viewing and enjoyment window is limited to that magical time between the Thanksgiving dishes being washed and put away and the last of the New Year's Eve confetti being vacuumed up.
Most of the components (1850 ornaments, 26 wreaths, 3 trees, 200 glittered stars, 150 yards of garland, 3000 feet of ribbon and more) that went into this project were constructed, decorated and prepped in the workshop and delivered nearly complete and ready for installation. Which also means, they will be wrapped, packed and stored for next year in pretty much the same manner. Where they will wait patiently for the sound of turkey wishbones being snapped signaling the start of another Holiday season.
(Of course, the planning, plotting, designing and sourcing for Holiday 2011 actually began as the last ornament was hung on Holiday 2010!)
